Kentucky Corrections Release Paths
No KDOC prison was identified inside Trimble County. A person sentenced through Trimble Circuit Court can be classified and placed anywhere in the Kentucky system or in an approved county jail bed. That means “Trimble release” describes the case connection, not a permanent prison location. The statewide KDOC record follows the offender as the location changes.
A state departure may be parole, which is conditional release under the sentence; mandatory reentry supervision, which is legally treated as parole for an eligible person; or final discharge, when the stated corrections authority ends. A transfer between institutions is not a community release. Neither parole eligibility nor a projected expiration date proves that departure occurred.
Confirm a Kentucky Corrections Release
Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, or KOOL, is the primary person-level source. It covers state offenders, sentenced felons in participating county beds, and people under KDOC community supervision. It is not a full record of every short Trimble County booking.
- Open the official KOOL application and begin with last name and first initial.
- Use DOC or PID number when available and compare birth date, conviction county, location, and status.
- Open the detail record and copy each date with its exact label.
- Check the parole-history table and determine whether the current location is an institution or supervision office.
- Match the name and DOC number in KDOC Daily Releases for the calendar day.
- Request the resident record card when the public fields do not settle the actual release or discharge.
The Trimble County released inmates search explains when a local jail, federal, or immigration source is required instead. Do not force a county booking into KOOL when there was no state sentence record.
Kentucky Corrections KOOL Fields
KOOL exposes both basic and advanced search fields. KDOC recommends a broad first search because too many filters can exclude the correct person. Search aliases when supported, then use stable numbers to distinguish similar names. The application updates four times daily, while KDOC warns that offender data newer than 120 days may not be finalized.

Not every record shows every field. KOOL also offers filters for offender type, supervision status, location, county of supervision, conviction facts, escape or abscond dates, and projected release date range. Preserve the live label and capture date. “Minimum expiration,” “proposed release,” and “released” are not interchangeable.
KDOC Daily Release Records
The KDOC Daily Releases archive is the strongest independent state cross-check. Its calendar-day PDFs can list DOC number, name, type of release, releasing facility, and felony class. Match by DOC number rather than name alone. The archive can preserve the event after a live KOOL location changes.
A Daily Releases line has limits. It contains no photograph or destination, and another detainer can affect where the person went next. It excludes ordinary local detainees who were never part of KDOC custody. A county jail may appear as “Released From” when it held a qualified state inmate, but that does not turn all departures from that jail into state events.

Ask for the resident record card, sentence computation, release or discharge date and type, supervision beginning and end, final discharge, and available offender photograph when relevant.

Research lists posted fees of ten cents per released paper page, $1 for a CD plus postage, and about $2.50 for a USB plus postage. Confirm current costs before ordering. KRS 197.025 provides a corrections-specific five-business-day response framework and permits security-based restrictions. Medical, victim, investigative, classification, and security material may also require withholding or redaction.
Kentucky Corrections Sentence Dates
A projected date can move after credit awards or forfeitures, new sentences, detainers, revocations, audits, and court corrections. Kentucky law provides several forms of sentence credit for eligible state prisoners, including prior confinement and approved program or educational credit. Applicability depends on the sentence, conduct, offense date, and governing version of law.
Parole eligibility is a chance for review, not a promise of release. A Board deferment moves consideration, while serve-out directs completion of the sentence rather than parole. Mandatory reentry supervision under KRS 439.3406 can release an eligible person before projected completion when discretionary parole was not granted, subject to exclusions. That person has left confinement but remains under parole authority.
Covered violent offenders face special minimum-service rules under KRS 439.3401, with offense-date and sentence-type details. Do not apply an 85-percent statement to every Kentucky offender. Only KDOC can give the authoritative computation for a specific record.
Kentucky County Jail Beds
Under 501 KAR 2:060, qualified state inmates housed in county jails can receive statutory, meritorious, educational, and approved program credits. The jail also supplies annual photographs to KDOC. This narrow rule helps explain why a state offender may show a county facility and still have KOOL sentence fields.
The rule cannot be generalized to every pretrial detainee, misdemeanor sentence, or local jail policy. First establish that the person was a KDOC inmate. Then use KOOL and the Daily Releases ledger. If a Carroll booking concerns ordinary Trimble local custody, request Carroll’s release record instead of applying state-credit rules.
Kentucky Parole After Release
An offender may appear at a probation and parole office instead of an institution after release. KOOL can show a supervision location and start date. Trimble County is within KDOC Probation and Parole District 12, which has a Carrollton satellite, but the district page does not promise that every Trimble supervisee reports there. Confirm the assigned office before travel.
Completion of supervision is different from leaving confinement. Request a final discharge or supervision termination record when the question is whether KDOC authority ended. An absconder field reflects an alleged failure to remain under supervision or an outstanding action, not proof of a new conviction. Verify any warrant through the proper court or law-enforcement custodian.
VINE and Kentucky Corrections
Kentucky VINE covers adult correctional facilities and can provide status notifications. Search the same person and compare the DOC identifier. If the person also has a local jail record, register for both because transfer into KDOC can end one watched record while the other continues.
VINE is a useful alert and timestamped check, but it is not the sentence computation or certified discharge record. Confirm a release notice through KOOL, Daily Releases, and the resident record card. If the person entered federal or immigration custody, follow that separate locator rather than describing the state departure as unrestricted community release.
